Day of the Accident by Nuala Ellwood – Book Review
Maggie wakes up from a coma to discover that her daughter died locked inside her car. The coroner’s report shows it was a terrible accident and judging by the injuries Maggie had sustained, she had done everything in her power to try to stop the car from rolling into a lake.
The grieving mother must investigate the depth of her dark past to unearth what happened and why.
My thoughts…
There are some books that send you in all kinds of directions with plots and subplots while some stories are so concentrated on the central character that you feel like you know them. Day of the Accident was definitely one of the most intense closeups of the main character’s, Maggie’s life and personality, that I felt as if I knew her.
This was a perfectly paced thriller that had me distracted for hours – it was one of the very few books I have read that literally prevented me from doing anything else in my life until it was finished.
I honestly believed that I had the entire plot worked out by the middle of the book – I was miserably wrong – the end threw me off.
If you are a parent, or even if your not, this book will tug at your heartstrings. Very emotional – especially towards the end.
Absolutely in love with this book!
